With a title like Dateline: Long Island you would half expect it to be a historical documentary about the New York City, right? Not exactly. Dateline Long Island ever so briefly DOES cover SOME history, (yes, Levitttown is included) but is more concerned about the sponsor of this movie, Newsday. As a matter of fact, over 3/4 of the movie focuses on the newspaper. That’s not saying it’s a bad thing, as a matter of fact, this is an EXCELLENT overview of how newspapers get published. Also, they go over it’s humanitarian and social activities, and have plenty of Newsday bigwigs talking nervously into the camera. All in all, a pretty great movie!……………………….
